How to Change the Priority of NZBGet Servers

NZBGet supports multiple Usenet servers with different priority levels, which helps manage usage across backup and primary servers. Adjusting the priority lets NZBGet decide which server to access first when retrieving articles.

Step-by-Step Guide to Changing Server Priority

1. Open NZBGet Settings

  • Launch NZBGet via the Web interface.

  • Click on Settings in the top menu.

2. Locate Server Configuration

  • In the left sidebar, navigate to News-Servers.

  • You will see a list of configured servers.

3. Select the Server to Modify

  • Click on the server whose priority you want to change.

4. Change the Priority Value

  • Find the Priority ('Level') field in the server configuration options.

  • Enter a number to define the server's priority:

    • Lower numbers have higher priority (e.g., 0 is highest).

    • Higher numbers indicate lower priority.

5. Save Your Changes

  • After adjusting the priority, scroll down and click Save all changes.

  • Restart NZBGet if prompted.

Notes on Server Priority

  • The priority setting helps NZBGet optimize which server to use based on availability and access speed.

  • Backup servers should be given a higher number to reserve them for fallback use.

Additional Tips

  • Use different priority levels to separate primary servers from block-based backup servers.

  • Review server logs to fine-tune priorities based on real-world performance.
